AIΓAIΩN THΣ IEΡAΣ KAI AΥTONOMOΥ / ZΠ - MI Bare head of Julius Caesar to right. Haymann 9b. RPC I 4036 var. (differing reverse legend arrangement). Very rare. Very fine.


With this issue, Aegeae claims Alexander 'the Great' and Julius Caesar as its founders, thus presenting itself as the heir to both the most famous Greek and Roman generals.
